ShannonScottShiflett, More like over-simplified — rip off is more like it The heatmap fills the same area as before, with the large margins, and then jumps to fill in the entire area — this is disconcerting, and sloppy. Why don’t you developers have higher standards? For $30 I expect more. I think I’ll get a refund. This “Pro” version doesn’t even have line by line transactions, so it’s tedious to manage and doesn’t provide accurate analysis.
This is a junk app. I have no confidence that the devs know what they’re doing. This app needs to be rebuilt from the ground up. It’s buggy, the ticker jumps to the bottom of the screen.
It’s outdated, old-school-looking. I wish I could say something good about it. The StockTwits integration is nice. Note: This is one of those developers who tries to hide the flaws and bad reviews by releasing a 0.0.x “bug fixes” release every time it receives a negative review. This is a sloppy app—the fact that it doesn’t have more advanced features by version 3.4.x is completely unacceptable, I suspect the developer doesn’t know how to implement these essential, basic features. Until they learn how, $30 is a total rip off.
Warning: Click “all reviews” and read all the complaints — this is NOT a 4-start app! I especially love the menu bar ticker. I have Stock + Pro setup to start with my Mac without opening the window just for the menu bar ticker. When I am ready to view the detailed performance of various stocks I will then open up a window. I also have to give enormous credit to the developers for avoiding the rating trap that most Mac app developers seem to add. You know the constant requests to rate the app in the app store.
It is a nice little button in the corner that is out of the way so you can simply focus on the stocks. The only con I could say about this app is that supposedly there is a way to see news on a particular stock. It took me a week to find it hidden underneath the stock charts and you have to pull it out. Other than that one little step that I never saw mentioned everything else is so easy to use.

LoveJacksonHole, Stop asking for reviews, this app is below expectations For a paid program with an above average sticker price this is below average in my opinion. Also, the quotes displayed on stock pro sometimes are different (lagging) from what is displayed by my online brokerage accounts. More latitude on background colors would be nice. I’d prefer a darker background that is easier on the eyes.
So would the ability to overlay charts for comparison. I see the claim for the ability to compare 5 stocks at once but couldn’t tell you how to do iteven a search in help brings no matches when the word comparison is entered. Or perhaps an option for purchase pricing gain/loss. Lastly, PLEASE stop asking me to review your app. Adding a review box that wouldn't go away without an answer is obnoxious. What’s even more obnoxious is when I answered the box that wouldn’t go away I auto-linked to a contact Chimp Studios webpage that lacked a submit or send button! There was no way to send in my comments to Chimp Studios after their pushy insistence on my feedback.
That’s sloppy and very telling. Wanna be pushy and obnoxious for a review with a below average product? I am sorry I purchaesd Chimp Studios Stock + Pro.
